Florida Bass Federation State Classic Championship

Congratulations, Way to go guys, Awesome job @ the Big "O"!!!

Standing on the hill watching all the boats leave @ the start of the
tournament competition Saturday, I could not imagine the sense of
pride I would later feel for our BMOGC Anglers while I was working the
afternoons as their weigh master.

For those of you who were not there to see the weigh in, our six
BMOGC Anglers( http://www.bassmastersofgatorcountry.com )
competing in the Florida Bass Federation  State Championship
tournament (Oct 21 & 22) made a very strong showing @
Lake Okeechobee
http://www.floridabassfederation.com/StateClassicChampionship.php

Travis Blucher (Big Bass day one, 3rd place,1st place non boater &
State Team)

Ron Klys (Big Bass day two, 6th place & State Team)

Benny Beckham (21st place)

Bob Heron (41st place)

Chris Heron (57th place)

Clayton Barnes (148th place)

In addition to their strong finishes the BMOGC anglers also brought
home the Big Bass honors for each day of the tournament competition.
During his first half hour of competition on Saturday nineteen year old
Travis Blucher definitely made an impression on the field of 192
anglers fishing Lake Okeechobee, by catching the Big Bass (9.81) of the
entire Tournament. Travis was fishing as a non boater in the FBF State
Championship tournament and this was his very first tournament on
the Big "O".

On Sunday Ron Klys over came the day one electrical problems that he
had in his boat and rose to the top of the day two Big Bass (7.18) leader
board for the BMOGC.

Travis (3rd place) and Ron (6th place) will now advance on as members
of our FBF State Team competing @ the next Southern Divisional TBF
Championship tournament. They will be competing there for an
opportunity to advance in to the next TBF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP (
http://www.bassfederation.com/ )PRESENTED BY THE NATIONAL
GUARD .

Travis and Clayton also added to the excitement as they were chosen
in the last twenty ticket draw for the $30,000 Ranger prize boat given
away. Travis was drawn out ahead of Clayton and watched on as
Clayton went down @ the wire as the runner up when the last two
tickets were drawn out.
